Season Two of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds closes with Captain Pike and the Enterprise crew confronting an aggressive assault by the Gorn on a non-aligned colony just outside Federation space. Now, he faces a hopeless situation. Pike must decide between saving Captain Batel and the colonists or following Starfleet’s orders not to engage the Gorn. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds S2, E9 – “Subspace Rhapsody”

For the last three weeks, we’ve repeatedly seen Star Trek: Strange New Worlds take creative risks. The range of inventive chances taken with storytelling techniques and subject matter is inspiring. “Subspace Rhapsody” is the most experimental of the most recent episodes.
