Addell and I decided to take a brief trip to Toronto the day after Thanksgiving Day in the U.S. It was planned as a late birthday celebration (Her birthday was November 24).
Here’s a look at what we did:
- We drove from Detroit to Toronto in a snowstorm that hit on the morning of November 28, just as we were leaving.

- Because of the snow, we got to our hotel, the Hilton Toronto, with only a few minutes to spare before we had to rush off to our dinner reservations.

- We ate at the fabulous Conejo Negro, a fusion restaurant that combines elements from Jamaican, American, and Latin cuisines for a thrilling meal every time!

- Afterward, we went to see a play produced by the Obsidian Theatre Company. It was really good.

- The next day, as we drove back to Detroit, we decided to go by the Toronto suburb of Mississauga, Ontario, where CBS Stages Canada is located. That’s where Paramount shoots all of the Star Trek shows on Paramount+. This building houses the famous ARWall. So, technically, this is the closest we have ever gotten to the U.S.S. Enterprise.

All in all, this was a great trip. I was reminded, yet again, how lucky I was to find a woman to spend the rest of my life with who really enjoys one of the things that has brought me so much joy throughout my life.
