Star Trek Discovery Rewind – Season Two

Season 2 of Star Trek: Discovery had the crew facing a mysterious and dangerous new threat tied to a series of puzzling signals scattered across the galaxy. Captain Christopher Pike of the USS Enterprise temporarily takes command of the Discovery after a distress call and leads the investigation into these “red bursts.” Also, during this season, Saru and the Kelpien species undergo a life-changing transformation; we’re introduced to a younger Spock, a return to Talos IV, and presented with a threatening AI presence. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds S2, E10 – “Hegemony”

Season Two of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds closes with Captain Pike and the Enterprise crew confronting an aggressive assault by the Gorn on a non-aligned colony just outside Federation space. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds S1, E10 – “A Quality of Mercy”

In the season finale, “A Quality of Mercy,” Strange New Worlds gives us a “what if” scenario. Like “It’s A Wonderful Life,” “A Quality of Mercy” shows Pike his future if he’s able to avoid the fate that was revealed to him by the Klingon time crystal. This new future occurs during the events of a critical moment in the Federation from the classic TOS episode, Balance of Terror. It reimagines this pivotable moment in Romulan-Federation hostilities by placing Pike in charge of the Enterprise instead of Kirk. Picard S2, E10 – “Farewell” & Strange New Worlds S1, E1 – “Strange New Worlds”

The aptly-named “Farewell” brought closure to Picard, Season Two. The series finished off with attempts to wrap up many loose plot threads and deliver a few emotional moments to end the season arc with some tearful goodbyes. As for Strange New Worlds, in the self-named pilot, we are introduced to the crew of the U. S. S. Enterprise as their captain, Christopher Pike, is forced out of a self-imposed sabbatical to rescue Number One on a planet that has just developed warp capability.
