“A Space Adventure Hour” is partially a loving homage, with equal parts biting satire, of The Original Series. Set on the soundstage of a cancelled 1960s sci-fi show called “The Last Frontier,” the holodeck recreates a murder mystery scenario based on the fictional Amelia Moon detective series that La’An read as a child. Star Trek: Prodigy S1, E16 & E17 – “Preludes” & “Ghost in the Machine”

In “Preludes,” the crew of the Protostar takes time to pause and learn the backstory of Rok-Tahk, Jankom Pog, and Zero. The episode also provides us with a detailed explanation of the first contact between Solum and Starfleet in addition to giving us insight to the whereabouts of Chakotay.

While “Ghost in the Machine” presents the crew trapped within what they believe to be is a holodeck malfunction made from a mashup of their individual simulations. Star Trek: Lower Decks S3, E8 – “Crisis Point II: Paradoxus

”Crisis Point II: Paradoxus” is a perfect sequel to one of the series top-five episodes from Season One. But that’s not all. Lower Decks is nothing if it isn’t self-referential to Star Trek lore. It’s packed with Easter eggs, visual references, and lines of dialogue that comment on something from canon. “Crisis Point II: Paradoxus” is like a double-stuffed Oreo; twice as delicious.
