The Cerritos deviate to the infamous Starbase 80 to fix their navigational system or spend the next 700 years on impulse getting home. Captain Freeman is troubled knowing that her alternate dimension doppelganger was reassigned to their Starbase 80 as punishment for some failure of leadership. It inspires her to make sure this trip goes well. Unfortunately, the crew, including Boimler, gets infected by a mysterious disease. Much of the narrative we’ve been following throughout Season Three of Lower Decks comes to an entertaining, but abrupt, conclusion in it’s finale episode, “The Stars At Night.” However, some of the emotional stakes that were raised so high only last week are quickly resolved. The status quo is simply reset to where things were at the end of “Grounded.” But on a positive note, “The Stars at Night” does give us another clue to what probably will be the major threat coming in Season Four. This week’s episode of LOWER DECKS has our heroes, Boimler, Rutherford, and Mariner, confronting both a herd of them and Ferengi poachers with laser whips. While on the Cerritos, Tendi is chasing down crew members who have avoided their check ups and Capt. Freeman is giving away a shuttlecraft.
