For the last three weeks, we’ve repeatedly seen Star Trek: Strange New Worlds take creative risks. The range of inventive chances taken with storytelling techniques and subject matter is inspiring. “Subspace Rhapsody” is the most experimental of the most recent episodes. Star Trek: Discovery S4, E6 – “Stormy Weather”

Episode Six, “Stormy Weather,” is a bottle episode in more ways than one. The Discovery becomes trapped in a subspace void created by the DMA. Even though Captain Burnham must find a way to escape the rift before it collapses in on itself, disintegrating everyone caught inside. Michael has to fight the growing despair growing as every effort to find a way out results in failure.
