In “Preludes,” the crew of the Protostar takes time to pause and learn the backstory of Rok-Tahk, Jankom Pog, and Zero. The episode also provides us with a detailed explanation of the first contact between Solum and Starfleet in addition to giving us insight to the whereabouts of Chakotay.
While “Ghost in the Machine” presents the crew trapped within what they believe to be is a holodeck malfunction made from a mashup of their individual simulations. The aptly-named “Farewell” brought closure to Picard, Season Two. The series finished off with attempts to wrap up many loose plot threads and deliver a few emotional moments to end the season arc with some tearful goodbyes. As for Strange New Worlds, in the self-named pilot, we are introduced to the crew of the U. S. S. Enterprise as their captain, Christopher Pike, is forced out of a self-imposed sabbatical to rescue Number One on a planet that has just developed warp capability. “Hide and Seek,” the penultimate episode of Season 2, is structured like a video game. It resembles an attack mission in a first-person shooter game but filled with emotional moments that want to convey a deeper meaning. Unfortunately, they lack impact. “Two of One” is a most unique experience because the script relies on a greater number of coincidences than any other episode of TV this season. “Fly Me to the Moon” is the midpoint episode in this season. So I think we can make some assumptions about where we are after viewing 50% of the story. We’ve had some highs and a few lows – specifically in this episode. One of the highs was getting the answers to a few questions, such as the identity of the blonde woman in which Q was so interested. Another was the killer reveal at the end of the episode. One of the downs was the resolution of Seven and Raffi’s attempt to free Rios from ICE custody. Let’s talk more on this.
