Season 2 of Star Trek: Discovery had the crew facing a mysterious and dangerous new threat tied to a series of puzzling signals scattered across the galaxy. Captain Christopher Pike of the USS Enterprise temporarily takes command of the Discovery after a distress call and leads the investigation into these “red bursts.” Also, during this season, Saru and the Kelpien species undergo a life-changing transformation; we’re introduced to a younger Spock, a return to Talos IV, and presented with a threatening AI presence. Star Trek: Prodigy S2, E9 & E10 – “The Devourer of All Things” Parts 1 & 2

Dal and the crew arrive at the designated coordinates but are puzzled by how they will detect the hidden planet. After Gwyn figures out the planet is out of phase like her, Rok figures out a way to reveal it. They land the Infinity on the planet and head toward an ancient temple-looking structure known as a ziggurat. Strangely, one of the interior doors looks like a giant 20th-century door to a vault one would find on Earth. A mysterious figure steps dramatically out of the mist and into the light. It’s not Chakotay, but Wesley Crusher – the former Lt. Junior grade Starfleet Officer – who accepted an invitation to become a Traveler. DS9 ReWatch: S2, E8 – “Necessary Evil”

We continue our DS9 ReWatch with “Necessary Evil, the eighth episode od Season Two.” “Necessary Evil” is structured as a film noir, the form of American cinema popular between 1941 and the early 1950s. The trend was inspired by the hard-hitting pulp fiction of the 1930s. Odo is our dogged investigator searching for the truth in both the present as well as the past.
