We continue our DS9 ReWatch with “Necessary Evil, the eighth episode od Season Two.” “Necessary Evil” is structured as a film noir, the form of American cinema popular between 1941 and the early 1950s. The trend was inspired by the hard-hitting pulp fiction of the 1930s. Odo is our dogged investigator searching for the truth in both the present as well as the past.

“Two of One” is a most unique experience because the script relies on a greater number of coincidences than any other episode of TV this season.
