In “Charades,” Spock and Chapel encounter a non-corporeal, inter-dimensional alien species that turn Spock into a full human right before he has to participate in an important Vulcan marriage ritual. The episode is, at first, a comedy, and secondly, an exploration of the deeper emotional complexities of Spock’s closest relationships. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds S1, E5 – “Spock Amok”

“Who doesn’t love hijinks?” “Spock Amok” is a lighthearted episode in the tradition of “I, Mudd,” “A Piece of the Action,” or “The Trouble With Tribbles.” Throughout the story, the story also conveys some insightful perspectives on the need for empathy.
