A bizarre transporter malfunction transforms Captain Pike and most of the crew into puppet- or muppet-style versions, leaving Spock as the sole unaffected humanoid member. Spock must fight to restore order aboard the ship and navigate it alone, interacting with, singing to, dancing with, and even kissing the puppet versions of his crewmates.
