Today on Star Trek: Age of Discovery, we dive into the season finale of Season 3, “That Hope is You, Part 2,” as well as provide an overall assessment of the third season. Then, we’ll end our podcast with recent Star Trek news.
“That Hope Is You, Part 2” took on a very different approach than previous season finale episodes. In fact, it could’ve served as the show’s series finale in the way it brought closure to all of the major plot threads that had been developed. In the wake of solving the mystery of the Burn and vanquishing all of the villains Burnham and crew faced this season, Star Trek: Discovery has handed the upcoming season a blank page for the first time. No hints based in canon or speculations as to what character from previous series might reappear next season. This time, the future is completely unwritten.
